I aspire to attend college and play baseball while achieving a college bachelor’s degree. My academic interest currently is broad, and I am looking into many different Business Degree opportunities at colleges throughout the U.S.
I am a team player. I have fast hands hitting, which allows me to generate power in my swing. In my recent high school try out I ran a 6.8 second 60-yard dash, so I also have good speed for stealing bases and running out throws. I see myself as a power and speed combination player and my speed pays off for range in the outfield. As for defense, I’ve been primarily playing in the outfield, most of the time being in right field. However, I have no preference for where I play in the outfield. I feel comfortable in left, center, and right field. I’ve also played 1st and 3rd base and see those as my secondary positions. At 16, I’m currently 6’0 feet tall and weigh 190 pounds.
As for my character, I always give it my all on the field and always want to do my best. I’m more of a calm person, but I love to feed off energy from my teammates. I work to give a lot of energy to my teammates to build chemistry. Team chemistry is a trait I find extremely important. It helps me strive as a player for my team, and coaches.
I have played baseball since I was 5, starting in Little League. I also play football. Football has truly helped improve my size, speed and strength and it continues to do so. My weekly routine has 5 days of weightlifting during football P.E. ,and I wake up at 5 am every Tuesday and Thursday, and go to school for speed and agility training. Playing football is improving my overall athletic abilities which transfers over to baseball. Being a 2 sport athlete is nothing but beneficial for my options to be an athlete at the next level.
I know academics is important if I wish to play college baseball. Therefore, I try to get the grades I need to get. I currently have a 3.54 GPA with most A’s and B’s. As for my family and coaches, I have been extremely fortunate to have their support. My mom and dad work hard for me to be able to have the equipment I need to perform well on and off the field. I will always be forever grateful for all they do for me. My coaches have also help me see the ability I have and I for sure wouldn’t be the player I am without them.
