Personal Statement

Hi Coaches my name is Miguel Noriega and I'm a senior at Central City Value High School. My aspirations to play college ball would be getting better and informing myself to my fullest potential to then pass it on to others. My goal would definitely be to play professional baseball but I have to start small before getting to that goal. My small goal would be to get better on my main positions that I know and also learn other ones because you never know when the team will need you during the game. You have to be open-minded to anything during the game because if you are not then what's the point of being a team player. What makes me a good candidate for any school that would like to take me in is that I am open-minded, flexible, good at time management, and a good team player. The sports world is a world of egos. If you know how to manage those egos, you already have a leg up on the competition. Fortunately, I already know how to handle people. I have a background in being a secretary for the Leadership group at my school and I had to learn how to handle people that thought they were better than others in the group. I am just the kind of person who settles problems. No matter how it got there, though, I am the kind of person who knows how to get people to work without making them feel less valued. I have these skills, that can motivate a team to succeed while keeping everyone happy at the same time. I may not have better grades than other athletes but what makes me different from others is that I am stubborn. I am a person who won't let a problem go away until I tackle it down and know the answer to it. I have taken this trait into my academics by raising my grades from Sophomore year to Senior year now and hopefully ending the school year with a 4.0. Nothing is impossible to conquer, you just have to put your mind to it to succeed.
