My name is Andrew Dutro. I am a Redshirt Freshman at Sacramento City College. I was born on August 28, 2001. I am 6’1” and weigh 195 lbs. I am a right handed hitter and also throw right handed. My primary position is the outfield playing mostly center field and left field.
I love the game of baseball. I have been playing since the age of 5 when I signed up for my first local little league T-Ball season. I had played every year up until the start of my Freshman year of high school. I have also played on various travel ball teams throughout my high school years. I truly respect the game of baseball and all of my many coaches and teammates. Without them I would not be the player I am today. My parents are my greatest motivators and supporters. They have given up their time and many weekends to travel and watch me play the game I love.
When I’m not playing baseball, I play basketball for my high school and my AAU travel team. I also like to do strength and cardio training at the gym.
My college aspirations are to continue playing baseball at the next level. Academically, I would like to major in Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering. I would like to become a pilot in either the Air Force or Navy. My primary focus is on fighter aircraft. I’ve always found aviation to be very fascinating and exciting. I have never missed a chance to attend an air show.
My main focus is my academics. I strive to challenge myself. I have taken many AP classes as well as various IB courses. I try very hard to balance academics along with being a student athlete. It’s not always easy but with focus and dedication I have been able to maintain good grades as well as play baseball at a highly competitive level.
I believe I would be a great student/athlete for any school that is willing to give me the opportunity. I’m a very coachable person and am willing to learn more about the game everyday. On the field, I communicate loud and clear and I have a very high IQ on how the game is to be played. I have been blessed with knowledgeable coaches that have pushed and motivated me and provided the necessary tools to make me better. I am a great teammate who supports everyone on and off the field.
