Hello Coaches,
I love sports and have played baseball and soccer since I was 6 and football since 8th grade (I currently start at strong safety on the Varsity football team). However, since 6th grade baseball has been my passion and has taught me many valuable skills that I can apply in any situation in sports and in life. It has taught me how to work as a team, stay positive through any circumstance, especially when things aren’t going your way. However, before sports I am a student. Coming back to school after being online during COVID was really a struggle for me. However, this year I have bounced back and have made a commitment to being the best student I can be. Studying how the body works and science have always fascinated me and I would love to study sports medicine, kinesiology or fire science in college. Additionally, in my spare time I also help volunteer through an organization called Teen Volunteers in Action (TVIA). I have volunteered at numerous events like distributing food to the homeless, toy drives, toy distribution, working with disadvantaged athletes and more. I enjoy giving back to the community and do this often with my father on my free weekends throughout the year. Being a good student and giving back to the community are 2 major parts of my life that outside of baseball I put a lot of time into.
This coming year for baseball I am focused on being a good leader to help my team succeed. As a shortstop, I need to be the most vocal player on the field and I am that. Being there for my teammates and keeping good chemistry on the field and in the dugout is a must if we hope to have the success we expect this season. Committing to these actions are just as important to me as well as performing on the field.
Thank you,
Eli Montgomery
