My name is Tristan Nash and I am a Senior at New Roads School in Santa Monica, California, in the class of 2024. I currently carry a 3.66 GPA. My collegiate goals are to attend a school with the major that I want to study, that has a good baseball program, and that complements my personality and interests.
I have been playing baseball since I was 4 years old, and I have 13 years of baseball experience and knowledge. I played at the Cooperstown All Star Village tournament when I was twelve, and I have played 6 years of competitive travel ball in Southern California, Arizona, and Nevada tournaments (Perfect Game, 5-Tool, Baseball Factory, etc.). I play 2B and OF for my travel ball team.
I have been the starting shortstop for my high school baseball team since 9th grade, and I was chosen Team Captain for the 2023-24 school year. Our team had our best season last year, as we were the CIF - Coastal League Division Champions, and I was named 1st Team All-Conference - CIF Southern Section Coastal League last year. As a sophomore, I was voted MVP finalist by my teammates and also selected to the1st Team All-Conference - CIF Southern Section Coastal League that same year. I am proud of those achievements because they reflect my commitment to always play my best.
I want to bring my baseball skills and mindset to a college team. I bat for average, have soft hands on defense, and have pretty good range at second base. At the plate, my coach has taught me to be a line-drive hitter and I have had success. He has also taught me about tempo, working the pitcher deep in the count and I have good plate discipline. I have pretty good speed on the basepaths.
I also am a supportive teammate who always strives to find a way to make my team become successful. I have a good mindset and I am persistent. I am constantly looking to improve my skills and become the best baseball player I can be. I will represent any college or university the same way I represent my high school and my baseball program.
