Personal Statement

In college, I want to pursue a Bachelors degree in kinesiology and find out more about myself and what I like to do. One of my favorite things to do is play baseball and my goal in college is to be the best baseball player I can be as well as soak up as much information as possible. As I've learned over the years on how to play the sport, I have learned how to not make the same mistake twice with guidance from my coaches. I try to lead and be positive about everything I do whether it is in school, on the field, or with my family. As I was growing up I didn't really believe in myself to apply my knowledge in school so I struggled. It wasn't until freshman year when I started to buckle down and get an idea of what to do and how to do it. I realized that I wanted to play college baseball and to do so, I had to apply myself in the classroom and get good grades. This dream gave me hope through my high school experience and finally clicked after receiving a D in a class. I took summer school and got an A which carried on into my junior year where I got a 3.8 GPA the first semester and a 3.5 GPA in the second semester. This really showed me that I can really do anything I set my mind to which will help me all through life. What I think differentiates me from other recruits is that I have a story that shows that I am only moving up and only starting to make a dent in my true potential in school and on the field. I think that for the baseball aspect, I started working hard on and off the field since I was rejected from my first two years of all stars. When I turned 12 I worked my butt off in the offseason and dominated my last year of little league. I made the all star team and ever since then have had the effort aspect that I was missing. Through that experience, it has led me to become a really good baseball player and someone who isn't afraid of a challenge.
