Devin Johnson '24 Recruiting Profile

I have always been a fierce competitor; sports, board games, cards, you name it. I've been told I have that "Mamba" mentality. My toughest critic...me. When it comes to volleyball, I'm constantly challenging myself with clinics, private lessons, YouTube videos of professional matches, etc. Playing at the collegiate level would be a major step in my development.

My coaches, and even collegiate level players, have shared that I am quick to improve, have a high volleyball IQ, a great vertical, and excel as an outside /opposite hitter. I am highly coachable, always seeking advice (even during games), and constantly trying to improve.

But my intensity applies to my academics as well. I made it a goal to get straight As this past year and I accomplished this even while taking AP Computer Science, Honors Chemistry, and Honors Math Analysis. 

I am looking forward to college where I can continue to grow and push myself academically, personally, and ideally in volleyball. While my preference may be to remain in CA, I am open to options, as the main goal is finding the right match in all three areas above.
