Hello! My name is James Lord and I'm 16, class of 2025 at Denver Christian High School, 6' 1", 145 lbs and I LOVE baseball and really want to play baseball in college. I am a utility player for our 2023-24 baseball team, back-to-back State Champions in 2023 and 2024. My primary position is Catcher (1.98 pop time), but I also Pitch (FB high 70s (T-80), great control), as well as enjoy Outfield (arm velocity 75mph) and 1B. I am truly an overall utility player.I have a 3.0 GPA and am working hard to improve my grades and prepare for college, which are trending up. I am open to attending a Junior College for 2 years and then transfer to a higher level school. Transferring from a public to a private high school after my freshman year has been difficult, but I feel I am getting a great education that will better prepare me for the future. I am planning on studying Exercise Science/Kinesiology in college and I would like to pursue a career as a Strength and Conditioning coach, possibly with special needs students--My high school language specialty is American Sign Language.
I am strong, physically and emotionally. Physically, I began lifting weights in the fall of 2022 and have gained significant muscle, as well as improved my numbers on the baseball field considerably from my November PBR to my February 2023 PBR (which I placed in the top 5 for both OF velocity and POP time). Emotionally, my mom has survived Breast Cancer and a Liver Transplant (all through COVID) and it was difficult to watch and deal with. Both my parents have taught me that family is important, but believing in something bigger than myself is just as important to get through the hard times and push you when you didn't think you can go any further. This has helped me a lot on the baseball field.
Overall, I am a very coachable player, willing and able to play anywhere on the field. I am a leader, and I am loyal and dedicated to my team and teammates. I think I would make a very valuable addition to any college and baseball program!
UPDATE: My family has made the decision not to pay for NCSA. A semesters (sometimes a year) worth of tuition is not something we can do just to see the names of the colleges that *might* be interested in me. Please contact me directly at 303-522-3059 or [email protected], or through X (@jamesbrendenlo5), I would really like to talk to you and see if we are a good match! Thank you and I hope you understand!
