Personal Statement

My main goal in any sport that I participate in is to help my team win in any way I can. Even though baseball is a team sport, there are many players who, when they have a bad game will be upset even if their team wins. While that accountability is important, and wanting to perform well is important, at the end of the day baseball is a team sport. Sometimes you may not perform well, but the rest of your team does, and in that time you need to put your performance aside and celebrate the team success. That mindset is something that I work hard to make sure I remember, even if others don't see it that way. I want my teammates to celebrate our success even when they are struggling, so I have to expect the same from myself. So while I work hard in the gym, in the classroom, at practice, etc. like most players do, I also work hard to make sure I have a strong mindset, and that is one thing that makes me stand out.
