My overall goal is to play baseball for a university that is the best fit for my athletic and career goals. 

I think the most important thing to know when it comes to recruiting me is - how much I want it! You may ask - is Sam Devard willing to put forth the time and the effort that it takes to excel at the next level for my team, not just on the field, but in the classroom as well? The answer is YES. I think I possess these skills based on my work ethic, my GPA, and my performance on the field. I seek to challenge myself in the classroom by maintaining good grades as I study to become a Physical Therapist.

There are three (3) things that define me as a player: 1) I am a grinder; 2) I am a leader; and 3) I am teachable. With recruiting me, you are a getting a player who is a grinder. Each day I strive to perfect my strengths - whether it be hitting, strengthening my arm or fielding. There are always aspects of the game that can be worked on and improved. With recruiting me, you are also getting a leader. Most teams need that guy to rally everyone together to overcome adversity and to eventually succeed in doing so. And finally, with recruiting me you are getting a player who can be easily coached. Many coaches I have had always say that I’ve been a pleasure to coach based on how easy it would be for me to make the right adjustments that they would tell me, and execute them in a game setting.

I think I have all the right characteristics that every college recruiter in the nation is looking for in a student athlete. I want to thank you for taking the time out of your day to read my Personal Statement.
