Personal Statement

My name is Samuel DelCollo and I am a Junior at Salesianum High School in Wilmington, Delaware. My number one athletic aspiration is to play collegiate baseball and help a program achieve its goal of winning baseball games. The reason I would be a great fit on your collegiate baseball team is my work ethic is second to none. I work hard to reach my full potential and to achieve this I have put myself on a tight workout program that I follow every day. The workout is designed to incorporate  baseball activities with a workout that targets a different body part. This routine has helped accelerate my strength and skills and I am looking to find a college that will help me realize my life-long dream of playing college baseball.  I also challenge myself academically. This year I am taking three Honors classes including 1 AP class. I follow a strict schedule so that I can balance my school obligations and my athletic obligations. In conclusion, my work ethic combined with my natural ability have allowed me to excel and I hope to continue that success at the collegiate level.

Club Information

  • Seasons of Club Experience
  • 3 seasons
  • 2017 Kennett Knights PA (Senior League All Stars/Travel Team)
  • Team highlights include 4 consecutive District and Sectional championships, along with 4 consecutive appearances in the state tournament. Personal highlights include a go ahead home run in the top of the seventh inning to clinch the 2016 District championship. More highlights include only getting out 1 time in districts and a 4 hit game in Sectionals. State tournament stats include 4 hits and 2 extra base hits(1 double and 1 triple).
  • 2017 Kennett Legion (Senior Divison(18u))
  • As a part of the Kennett Senior Legion team, I led the team in batting average, hits and extra base hits as the youngest player on the team. In 14 games I batted 14-28 with 6 doubles batting out of the 4 hole while only striking out twice all year. As one of the younger teams in the league we lost in the semifinals in our District tournament and hope to improve upon that next year and win the league.
  • 2017 Pennsylvania Bell Ringers (18u)
  • The Pennsylvania Bell Ringers compete in an age group above their actual age because of the talent level on the team. The team compromised of 12 varsity players. Team highlights include wins over some of the best teams in the North East region and competing with and beating teams that are sometimes two age groups above our own. Personnel stats include leading the team in extra base hits, home runs and maintaining a batting average of at least 400 each year we have played. My primary position has been center field with sometime spent at third base. I also generally serve as the teams closer.
