Sebastian Palacios '22 Recruiting Profile

The entirety of my life has always been baseball. It’s literally all I can remember. My family wrote

all the information from when I was born down on a baseball. The first thing I ever wore was a

Marlins jersey since they won the World Series that year. My name is Sebastian Palacios and for

the last 18 years, I’ve lived and breathed the game of baseball. I’m a senior in the graduating

class of 2022 and this game has blessed me with some of the best memories of my life. I’ve had

the privilege to play in one of the highest-ranked high school programs at Calvary Christian

Academy under talents like Irv Carte, Andy Painter, and others. I’ve always been athletic but no

other sport has captivated me like baseball has. I’m Hispanic so I was contractually obligated to

try out the whole soccer thing, but it just wasn’t for me. The high that comes when you make

contact with the baseball is just too intoxicating. Baseball is a game in which you can never be

stagnant, the game is constantly evolving and the talent just gets better and better. Nothing

pushes you to be better more than baseball. Covid robbed us of a season and made it very

difficult to be able to participate in this game that I love so deeply. That distance from the game

only made me realize how much I missed it. It motivated me to train harder than I ever had

before, and made me realize how much of a blessing it is every time I can stand on a baseball

field. The goal for me and my family has always been to have the opportunity to play college

baseball, and I’m hungry. I haven’t reached my peak yet, not by a long shot. It would be an

honor to be able to continue to develop and evolve with the game playing college baseball
