Garrett Albright ...Personal Statement
My name is Garrett Albright and I am a junior at Camden County High School in Kingsland, Georgia. I'm currently 6'3" and weigh 190 pounds. My ultimate goal is to play baseball at the collegiate level. My primary positions are shortstop, second base, and pitcher. I've played all three outfield positions and third base in specific situations as needed by my team. I've played since the age of four and have had the opportunity to learn from a lot of great coaches. Without them and hard work I wouldn't be the player I am today. I feel I would be a great candidate to any program, since I can play multiple positions and am extremely dedicated to my craft. In the off season, I work on agility and strength training and enjoy playing travel ball. In terms of college, I am looking to major in engineering and have currently begun to take preliminary classes in the engineering academy at my high school. I currently have a 4.925 G.P.A. and enrolled in duel enrollment courses. I believe what makes me stand out is my passion and drive to be the best not only on the field, but in the classroom as well. I continually work hard each day to make myself, team, and program to be stronger and rise to the challenges put in front of me.

- OF Notes: Definite prospect, best body so far, mainly and infielder. INF: Overall actions were solid. Struggled at times with your footwork and losing rhythm into the catch. Continue to keep the feet moving the entire time and that can allow for much more fluid actions and overall athleticism in the Infield. HItting: Swing works well. Bat stays in the zone well throughout the swing. Lower half uses the ground well to create power from the lower half. Power currently is ahead of age group. In game, some swing decisions and could improve. Approach seemed solid. Continuing to focus in the weight room and on speed to stay in the MIF is what we would encourage to improve.Pitching:Learn when to bring all the intent into the throw. Let that front foot get down then unleash all of the intent. When the intent comes too early, before the front foot gets down, it messes up the sequencing. When the intent is timed up the arm works the best with your movement pattens. Additionally, just continue to work really hard in the weightroom. That will be huge for your velocity development. - PBR In Class Scouts/Coaches Notes One of the winners of our Team Elite/Team Georgia Scout Day back in June was without a doubt SS/RHP Garrett Albright (Camden County). His performance there lands him at No. 135. Checking in at 6-foot-2, 160 pounds, Albright is long and lanky with obvious athleticism. On the mound, Albright works with a gradual building up of momentum, and then controlled violence on stride plant. He produces easy arm speed with a long, loose arm action on the back-side, coming out of a high 3/4 slot. The fastball topped out at 85 this summer, but given everything he is working with, there is no reason to believe another jump is in store. He showed good feel for a tight slider at 74-75, that had late bite, and a fading changeup at 78-79. Albright can also swing it, with a gap-to-gap approach, and good action up the middle to stick there defensively.
