Ivan Salazar '18 Recruiting Profile

I take great pride in my personal development and strive to improve on the field and off daily.  I am a 2 sport athlete in school and am a leader in both, whether elected a captain or not. I feel that I am very coachable and can teach others as well. As a Catcher my leadership helps guide the pitchers through their game plan and sets the tone for the other players on the field. Pitch-calling and maintaining a rhythm with the pitchers are other strengths. 

I have been working on my strength this off-season and have seen the benefits in basketball as well as in the batting cage. As a left-handed batter I am working on driving the ball to the opposite field and taking away the inside corner. Behind the plate, overall balance and framing are two development points that I have focused on.

I am a strong leader, extremely coachable, as well as a good teacher. I would be a great fit in any program.
