Personal Statement

Thanks for taking the time to view my profile.  My name is Noah Mourey and I am a RHP  at Cascade High School on the west side of Indianapolis Indiana.  Going into my Junior year, this will be my third year on the Varsity team or 13th season of playing baseball  The game of baseball has been both rewarding and challenging as I advance to the next level each year.  I think back to the great memories and challenges baseball has provided me.  Some of my best memories are from the time as a catcher when I had 4 put outs in a single game in 90+ degree weather, my first home run, when I threw a no-hitter in my 2nd Varsity appearance as a Freshman, to recently being being nominated both the MVP and winning pitcher after our July 15, 2016 Championship  at a Cal Ripken Tournament in Myrtle Beach.  Knowing that I only have a few more years until the end of my High School career, I think to my self, what a blessing playing this game has been.  I look forward to the opportunity to continue playing baseball in college and consider it a bonus that there's a chance this game could help pay for my education.  With that in mind, the extra practice it takes to get better is well worth the benefits...count me in!

If you can make it, please feel free to let me know and the coach will try to coordinate my pitching rotation according.
  • 2016 16U Indiana Mafia Baseball
  • For the 2016 16U season I playied for the Indiana Mafia Baseball team located in the Southwest Indianapolis area. They have recruited me to be a Primary Pitcher, Secondary Catcher and assist as a Middle Infielder when needed.. Coach Jelley and the team was the best to play for. I enjoyed playing for them and had a great season. I had the honor of leading the team in Inngs pitched with the lowest ERA while pitching in many of the most important games. Two of the games were championship games one of which was a Cal Ripken tournament in Myrtle beach where I pitched the complete game assisting the team in earning the championship rings and the tournament MVP,
  • 2016 High School Fall Ball League (2016 High Scool Age)
  • This is a wood bat league in which most all Indianapolis area High Schools participate. It was a good season for me. I was selected to their 2016 All Star Games in which 2-3 players at most per team are selected. For the season, my bating average was .500. Pitching I threw a 0.00 ERA for 4 games pitched at 2 innings a piece. (They limit Inngs pitched in this league) For the 8 Inngs pitched I threw 20 K's & 8 BB with 101 Strikes and 72 balls.
  • 2015 High School Fall Ball League (2015 High School)
  • The High School Fall Ball League is put on by Crossroads and has teams in Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio and Tennessee. I played in this league for the fall of 2014 & 2015 and plan to play in it again for the fall of 2016. Last year over the course of 6 weeks we played 9 games. I pitched in 4 of them and faced 22 batters in 6 innings throwing 9 SKO with 3 BB's and 2 hits. I had a .364 batting average with 8 hits out of 22 at bats. Overall it was a good season as this league competes with the top talents in High School baseball around Indianapolis and surrounding ares.

Events

  • Camp/Event
  • Baseball Factory - National Tournament
  • 7/28/17 to 8/01/17
  • The baseball factory experience was awesome as we were using the same facilities the the Pittsburgh Pirates use for Spring training. The instructions was great as I did gain some pointers with my swing as well as some confidence in what they said I was doing right. As for my pitching they gave me a few additional tweaks / pointers towards consistency & arm care. Our team participated in 4 games in which I pitched in 2 of them for a total of 5 innings with 6 K's with 2 Pick-offs & 2 grounded outs that I fielded for a total of 10 outs during my 5 innings of pitching. Overall this was a great experience as well as a lot of baseball growth packed into a 5 day trip.
  • Camp/Event
  • Baseball Factory / Under Armour National Tryout 2017
  • 3/05/17 to 3/05/17
  • Baseball Factory Pro Style workout with various skills / mechanics evaluated by the BF staff with bullpen pitching. I felt I performed well and that was confirmed when I received a call that Baseball Factory would like me to participate on one of their national teams in Bradenton Fl. / Pirate City at the end of July. I accepted their offer and was excited to play in the tournament as well as gain valuable instruction each day...10+ hours a day of baseball for 4 1/2 days.
  • Camp/Event
  • New Year HS Prospect Camp
  • 1/21/17 to 1/21/17
  • This was a college prospect camp held by Purdue's new head coach Mark Wasikowski. I registered this camp as a Pitcher only. I pitched for two inning during a scrimmage type game. The 1st inning I struck out all 3 batters with command of my fast ball and slider. Then during the 2nd inning I struck out another with the other two having soft contact, one to the short stop for an easy out and the other was a soft grounder between 1st in Pitcher that I fielded for an out. During this camp I felt I threw my FB well at 85mph while my slider was breaking as intended. It was a great feeling to have several Purdue players tell me how well they thought I did.
  • Camp/Event
  • Southern Illinois Prospect Showcase Fall 2016
  • 10/23/16 to 10/23/16
  • This was a showcase event in which we went through a full evaluation and also participated in a simulated game. While my body was a bit tight from playing WR / S for my High School Football team that Friday night, I threw 80-82 FB & 68-72 SL with very good command. Some comments from the coaching staff: "Very good online delivery to home plate. Allows for good extension and ability to repeat. Arm action is very clean and allows for great command of all pitches. Work hard on long toss to gain arm strength and to link lower half. Profile is there to make a good jump..." Hitting & Fielding thought I was at a good to lower level college range.
  • Camp/Event
  • Roundtrippers 15th Annual College Showcase
  • 8/14/16 to 8/14/16
  • Roundtrippers (Large baseball facility north of Indianapolis) held their 15th Annual College Showcase on Sunday August 14, 2016. They had a nice turnout with around 100 athletes and 35+ colleges in attendance. I participated as a "Primary" Pitcher and a "Secondary" Catcher. With the hitting portion I felt I had some nice hits with many outfield drives and a couple up the middle with the 8 pitches we received. There were 11 catchers and I tied for the 4th best Pop Time with a 2.06. Then for my main focus, the pitching I threw the FB at 86-85mph., my slider was working well! It is my hope that of the 35+ colleges in attendance that they saw some potential in me as it is my goal to continue my development this winter to be the best I can be this spring.
  • Camp/Event
  • Indiana State University
  • 1/17/16 to 1/17/16
  • This camp was called Indiana State University Winter Prospect Camp. It was held on January 17, 2016 open for class of 2016, 2017, 2018 &2019. I attended the camp as primary pitcher and secondary middle infielder with the class of 2018. My main goal for this camp was to of increase my pitching velocity a bit from what I threw just 6 weeks prior at the PBR Holiday Showcase. I have been working hard to increase my fast ball and develop my slider. My fastball was 82mph (2mph faster than just 6 weeks prior) while my slider was 74-76 and working well.
  • Camp/Event
  • Prep Baseball Report
  • 12/06/15 to 12/06/15
  • This camp was called the Hoosier Holiday Showcase. It was open to High School age baseball athletes. At the camp I worked out as a primary pitcher and secondary middle infielder. In evaluating my middle infield velocity, one nice accomplishment was that at 79mph, it was 2mph faster than just 2 months prior. While I feel my camp stats were good for a sophomore, I intend to continue working at it to make me the best college prospect I can be.
  • Camp/Event
  • Demarini Evaluation Camp at Earlham College
  • 10/11/15 to 10/11/15
  • This camp was for High School age student athletes and had several colleges in attendance. At the camp I had Pitching as my primary position and 2nd base as my secondary position. A nice honor for the day was that of the 90 some athletes there, I threw the fastest fastball (80mph) of anyone. My breaking ball was clocked at 72 mph. Then while working my secondary position of middle infielder my infield velocity was clocked at 77 mph.
  • Camp/Event
  • Purdue University Top 40 Prospect Camp
  • 1/18/15 to 1/18/15
  • In attending this camp, I concentrated on the pitching portion of the camp. Attending this camp in January of 2015 prior to my Freshmen season, here is Coach Locascio's comments: We appreciate Noah making an effort to come to our camp. His Fastball velocity was 76-78. His breaking ball was 67. He threw both pitches for strikes and had a quick arm for his age and size. Also, his fastball has some arm side run to it and gets on the hitter quickly. I hope this helps. Good luck to Noah this spring and in the future. Boiler Up! Drew Locascio Assistant Baseball Coach Purdue University [email protected]

Training

  • Panko Strength & Fittness
  • 3 years
  • Panko is a strength and fitness training program located in Plainfield Indiana that I have participated in during the "off season" or between football and baseball season for the last three years.
  • Stan Lovins - Personal Trainer
  • 6 years
  • Stan has worked with several MLB players developing their skill sets from the Indianapolis Indiana west side. Some of the notables that he has worked with are: Lance Lynn, Drew Storen and more recently Tucker Barnhart. He is currently working with Tyler Houston, which in 2015 as a Freshmen at Butler University made the Louisville Slugger Freshmen All-American Team selection and Second Team All-BIG East selection. He held a .324 batting average his freshmen year with 51 games. These great athletes have proven his lessons / instruction to be successful. Both Stan & I have the similar goals for myself which I believe are obtainable if I continue to apply my self.
