Ever since I was a young boy, it's been my goal to play baseball in college. I've always been a hard worker and I think that's reflected in my academics and participation in extracurriculars like athletics. I have played baseball since I was a little boy, and have started for our varsity team since my sophomore year. In my sophomore year, I started at first base, which was a position I had never played before. Despite never playing 1B, I worked hard every day at practice and stayed after to master the skills. Before playing first base, I caught for 8 years before, and I feel like having played catcher for so long gives me an edge when it comes to playing first. Not only do I play first, but for the past two varsity seasons, I have pitched, and plan to continue that my senior year and into college. I play every day like it's my last because I realize that it very well could be. During my sophomore season, I fractured my L5 vertebra, and had to play the remainder of the season with that discomfort. It prevented me from enjoying my summer break and being able to play summer ball. With that experience behind me, I realize the importance of giving 100% every day, because you never know when you'll be able to play again.
