“One of the beautiful things about baseball is that once in a while you come into a situation where you want to, and where you have to, reach down and prove something”- Nolan Ryan. This statement speaks to me because in life, like in baseball, you have to continually work hard and prove yourself. Since I was four years old I have played baseball. I have participated in a range of teams from recreational leagues to select Triple A/Major teams and I have enjoyed every minute.
Baseball is a big part of my life. Baseball has developed my character, improved my self-discipline, and my mental outlook. I have an outgoing personality. I like getting to know the players and coaches on my team. I try to be selfless player and think about what is best for the team. I listen to the coaches and follow their lead.
When I am not playing baseball, I am a volunteer coach for my brother’s select baseball team. I help give the kids pointers on what I have learned and what has worked for me to improve their pitching and fielding. This experience has inspired me to play baseball in college because I love seeing people improve their game. It drives me to want to improve my game and to play even more.
I am looking for a college that will give me a well- rounded education while allowing me to play the sport I love. I am excited and looking forward to playing baseball at the college level.
