Personal Statement
First of all my name is Ganon Archer and I am currently a Junior at Van Meter high school in Iowa. I am a multisport athlete playing 4 sports year-round. I have always wanted to play baseball in college and hope I get the chance to achieve that goal. I know this process is not easy and being a college athlete is not easy, but I am willing to do the work in order to achieve my goals. I know academics are a very important part of getting into colleges, and I work hard to keep my grades up to one day get into a college to be a student-athlete and play baseball.
I have been playing baseball for pretty much my entire life and it is one I really have connected with and enjoyed over the years. I played on a travel baseball team called the Iowa Sticks for 5 years which really helped me improve my game. Once highschool baseball started I had to quit playing travel ball because they are in the same season and highschool baseball takes up all of the season. I've put in tons of time and effort to be where I am today, but there is still so much more room for improvement.
I like to socialize with my team and coaches, but when its time to play whether its practice or a game I am very focused on what I am doing. I love the environment of playing baseball as well as being part of a team and interacting with those guys during the year. I've always had a love for pitching which is something I enjoy doing, but something I can still very much work on.
