I attend Valley High School in West Des Moines, IA (4A) and will graduate in May, 2015. My goal is to play baseball in college while earning a degree in sports management/marketing.
My primary position is 1st base, but I am also a RHP with an average fastball, and an excellent curve and change-up. I have a high baseball IQ, and am an above-average power hitter. I have played competitive baseball for many years and have a great attitude on and off the field, and am able to take instruction well. I maintain great relationships with my coaches and teammates, and keep a positive outlook regardless of the outcome of each game.
We recently wrapped up our season, making it to the quarterfinals of the Iowa State Baseball tournament. This season, I saw action at 1st base, was in the rotation of varsity pitchers and served as clean-up batter for the Tigers. I was also named to the 1st team of the Western Division CIML Conference at 1B.
I have been selected to play on the Scout team for the Iowa Sticks, a competitive fall ball team through Sportsplex West (Waukee, IA). As of mid-September, we have placed 2nd at the Pastimes Ann Arbor Tournament in MI and 1st at the ScoutStop Labor Day Tournament in Minneapolis. We are scheduled to play in the Wood Bat Exposure Series in MN October 4-5; the Ball Park Invitational in IL October 18-19; and the Desert Classic in Las Vegas October 31-November 2. I returned to my strength and conditioning program in August with former coaches/players at Sportsplex West, as well as personal hitting/infielding/pitching lessons.
I am an above average student with a 3.48 GPA. I also participate in the school's Silver Cord program which requires 50 hours of volunteer work per school year. I have earned more than 50 hours each of the past four summers, all the while playing summer baseball.
Playing baseball at the next level has been my dream for many years. I believe I possess the skills and ability on and off the field to make that happen.

- Jacob Rojohn is a 2015 RHP/1B with a 6-2 240 lb. frame from West Des Moines, IA who attends Valley HS. Big framed thick build, good present strength. Simple delivery mechanics with a short stride out front, short compact high arm circle in back, tight high 3/4's release slot. Mid-70's fastball, mostly straight, maintained velocity well and threw strikes. Short slider thrown frequently to glove side, got some bite and good depth at times, rare change up. Right handed hitter, wide base with short stride off line, loose long swing, showed some pull/lift ability when squared up, gets ball into the air, will run into some balls in his zone. Good student.

- Showed versatility being able to play 1B also pitch. Competed well, was around the zone when pitching. Able to throw back-to-back days 2 innings each which shows he wants to compete, has toughness and enjoys playing baseball. For being a young junior, he showed some strength in the game flying out to CF high and deep. On the mound, he showed he commanded the FB down in the zone. Gives his team a chance to be in every game by not walking hitters and being affective down in the zone.

- Jacob Rojohn is a 2015 RHP/1B with a 6-2 240 lb. frame from West Des Moines, IA who attends Valley HS. Rojohn has a large frame with broad shoulders with some present strength. As a right handed pitcher he threw from a high 3/4 arm slot with a short arm circle in the back and a compact arm action. Curveball had 12-6 breaking action, fields position well. As a first baseman he showed good footwork around the base and good arm strength with online carry. As a right handed hitter he hit from a wide base with an aggressive approach and makes good contact with some power in his bat. Good Student.
