Personal Statement
The past two years of my high school baseball we have fallen short in the state tournament run. Being beat by the same team two years in a row in the final round of the regional tournament, it has been a tough road for everyone. We had graduated six seniors including three pitchers and we were looking to be short on pitching staff due to some new rules that have come into play. Not normally being a pitcher, I was able to fill a dominant role as a main pitcher and was finally able to get my chance and pitch versus the team that beat us in the regional tournament the last two years. Giving up just one run we were able to head to the state tournament for the first time in 20 years.
I enjoy the feeling of a game being in my hands. whether it's the winning run on third and I'm after that or we are only one out away from state championship title, I thrive of the feeling of being in control. And I feel like I will be able to do anything in my power to win the ballgame.
