Personal Statement

Hello, I'm Adrick Jayce (AJ) Murray. I have been playing some form of baseball since I was just two years old. I have dreamed of playing professional baseball since I was a very young child. My father, Kaseen Murray, has been a huge impact on my upbringing both on and off the field. He started throwing me the baseball at the age two in the front yard. I could eventually hit the baseball into the street which was our homerun marker. My parents also taught me to be respectful and coachable. I have played baseball at various levels to include recreation, middle school, high school, and travel ball. I have been selected as team Captain numerous times, and have made All-Stars multiple times. I have experienced the highs and lows of playing for elite teams and winless teams. I was also blessed to participate in the USSSA World Series AA Destin in 2016 and Cooperstown World Series in 2017.  I also won a North Carolina State Championship with the Hope Mills 14U Dixie Boys Baseball All-Stars in 2019. I feel that I am an asset to a team because I can perform at a high level but also help motivate and teach teammates to perform to the best of their abilities.
