Personal Statement

I am a class of 2023 senior attending Grayson County High School.   I play baseball and basketball, but my passion truly lies with baseball.  I want to play college baseball because I love the game and want to further my education.  I love baseball and everything about the game.  What really gets me going is the intensity of the game.  It takes EVERYONE on a baseball team contributing something to be successful.  I feel like I would be a good candidate for a team because I am coachable, dependable, and hard working.  I am humble with a supportive family. I am also honest about my abilities whether they be the best or whether I am lacking in some way. I am always willing to learn and work to improve my skill set.  I'm also versatile.  I am a good team mate and willing to pick up anyone feeling down. My main position is the outfield.  It's where I excel.  However, I can play first base, catch, and pitch.  I am not the player that stands out based on metrics alone.  However, I shine in game situations. I handle pressure well and am willing to sacrifice myself for my team. I'm the guy with all the intangibles: solid role player for my team, hit in the clutch, make the play in the clutch, sacrifice myself for the win. I want to be involved with a program where I can make a contribution straight away. I want to play at the next level and I am willing to put in the work to achieve that goal!!
