Just recently I learned that in order for me to keep playing baseball at a high level I need to excel in the classroom as well as on the field. With both baseball and school in order for me to be my best, I need the people around me to be their best. If that means staying after class to help a classmate with their geometry homework or spending an hour after practice working with my first baseman on pickoffs, then I will gladly do it. Being the unofficial leader of my team has helped me get the absolute best out of my teammates on and off the field and has hopefully prepared me for college where I wish to do the exact same thing.
