Alexander Mills '19 Recruiting Profile

Hello Coaches,

My name is Alex Mills, a very versatile outfielder who can not only help any team with his glove and bat, but bring a positive and lively culture into the dugout of any ball club.  I believe that having a upbeat attitude at all times will keep myself and my team focused on the number one goal of winning.  Although in order to win, you need to know how to play.  As a junior in high school, I was the starting centerfielder and leadoff hitter for the Dexter Dreadnaughts, who tied for 1st place in the division of a highly competitive league.  Speed, athleticism, and baseball IQ is what made me the best candidate for these roles.  I have the ability to drive the ball into the gap for a triple, as well as drop down a drag bunt to reach first base safely.  My goal as a leadoff hitter was always to reach third base before two outs were recorded.  Doing that allowed the 3,4,5 hitters to drive in the first run of the game.  In the field, my glove and ball tracking ability is what I'm best known for.  I can run down a deep fly ball in the gap and consistently come down with it to prevent extra base hits.  But not only is my baseball IQ superior to most, I am proud of my 3.55 GPA in school while participating in football in the fall, ice hockey in the winter, and baseball in the spring as well as being apart of National Honors Society.  I believe I am an excellent choice for any team to have and I know  I can help make a team successful.
