Patrick Vance Baseball Student Athlete
Baseball has been a major part of my life. I have played the game since I was 6 years old. My passion for the sport extends from travel ball to high school, and to college showcase events (e.g., PBR). Throughout my baseball career, with the help of my parents and coaches, I have been fortunate to attend pitching clinics such as NPA and catching camps such as Just Block It at Michigan State University. I have also participated in Team USA baseball and Gameday All American games. These camp and event opportunities have helped me refine my baseball skills. They have also taught me the importance of leadership and working together on a team. Currently, I am playing for MotorCity Hit Dogs, which is a highly respected organization in the Detroit area of Michigan. I am very excited to be playing for such a respected team. I have also been picked to play for my varsity team at Kalamazoo Christian High School as a freshman. I am very proud of making the varsity team as a freshman. It is something I have had as one of my goals and my hard work and determination helped me to achieve it.
Outside of baseball I have come to enjoy working out in the gym and weightlifting as a second sport. In my time outside of formal baseball practice, games, and schoolwork, I enjoy going to Anytime Fitness and working out. At the gym, I have learned weight training for strength and agility that is specific to helping with my baseball skills. It's very interesting learning about the body, how it works, and seeking out my weak points and improving on them. While I have not formally started, I look forward to growing my knowledge into a nutrition plan and learning more about how this can help me achieve my athletic goals.
In the future, I plan to go to college to study business with a specific focus on investment banking. This is my current thinking as a freshman in high school and while in college, I would like to continue my baseball career. I look forward to investigating different colleges and attending college baseball showcases to help me find the program that is the right fit.
