I have always planned to go to college, and I have worked very hard to prepare myself to play baseball at the collegiate level. I am fortunate to be blessed with intelligence and athleticism, but I know it will take a lot of sacrifice and commitment to be successful in both my classes and on a baseball team.
My coaches have said I am a good athlete to coach, because I have a willingness to be taught and I comprehend the strategy of baseball. I can take the instruction given and turn it into action on the field. I have a positive attitude and do not get distracted by mistakes. I lead by example and do not participate in negativity on or off the field.
As a middle-infielder, I know it is my job to make sure there is communication across the team. I am versatile and can easily change positions within the infield. I have fast hands and great foot speed.
As a batter, I understand how to go deep in the pitch count to the advantage of the team. I am a very good base runner, have good speed, and know how to read a pitcher.
I am looking for a college that will challenge me academically, where I can learn more about the opportunities for my future, and where I can be around people who share my goals and interests. I look forward to playing an important role on a college baseball team, and will always represent my school and team honorably.
