I am entering my senior year of baseball for Galena High School. I have been a starter at the Varsity level for both my sophomore and junior years as well as a starter on the Junior Varsity team my freshman year. During my sophomore year I was the starting second baseman, was in the 3-man rotation as a starting pitcher, and caught a couple games. In conclusion of that year I received the Honorable Mention All-League Utility Player Award for Division 1 Northern Nevada Baseball. As a junior I slid over from second base and became the starting first baseman for the team while still maintaining my spot in the 3-man rotation as a starting pitcher. Although not as much as my sophomore year, I still saw some innings at second base when the spot needed to be filled and also caught a game. Concluding the season I was awarded the Honorable Mention First Base Award for Division 1 Northern Nevada Baseball.
I have been playing baseball since I was three years old and have enjoyed the competitiveness and strategic nature that the game contains. I feel I have a strong knowledge for the game of baseball, the athletic ability to excel at multiple positions, and a positive attitude with my teammates and coaches. I am willing to listen to what a coach has to say in order to improve myself because there can always be room for improvement.
Academically, I have excelled greatly in the classroom and will continue working hard in order to continue to do so. I have maintained a 4.0 cumulative GPA throughout my middle school and high school years and wish to keep doing just that. Currently my weighted GPA is at a 4.9 after 7 semesters and my goal is to reach at least a 5.0 weighted GPA by the end of my senior year. Both my sophomore and junior years I was recognized for my academic excellence and was thus selected to the All-State Academic Team for Nevada baseball.
My current goal for baseball is to excel as the team’s catcher during both the high school summer ball season as well as during my senior year of high school. I would also like to have hard work and dedication pay off by being selected as the team captain and finish my final year of high school stronger in the classroom and on the field. It would be an honor to play baseball at the college level and major in a field requiring mathematics.
Thank you for viewing my profile.
