Personal Statement
My name is Colin Ahart and I am currently attending St. Joseph Academy in Hammonton, New Jersey. I was born July 21, 2003 in Cherry Hill, New Jersey and am presently 6" 1" and 185 pounds. I come from a very supportive and loving family who push me to be the best I can be both academically and athletically. My dad played division I baseball and was an All-Pac 10 Center fielder at Gonzaga University in the 80's, and is now a Municipal Court Judge in New Jersey. My mom played field hockey and graduated from West Chester University with a Masters in Education, and my sister presently attends Haverford College and plays field hockey. It is my goal to play college baseball and graduate from a quality four year college or University. I also play basketball, and to keep in great shape both physically and mentally I work out daily at the gym and at our baseball complex. I have played travel baseball since I was eight years old and have been on numerous teams ranked in the top one hundred in the nation several years. I have been told by many coaches that I am extremely coachable, a leader by example, and have the perfect level headed mentality to succeed in a sport that is full of failure. I pride myself in my dedication, hard work and I always do something everyday to make myself a better person. I continually work hard everyday to achieve my goal to play baseball in college and to graduate with a four year degree. I can honestly and without reservation assure any coach that you will not be disappointed if you recruit me to play at your college or university. I am always open to criticism and advise, and will work harder than anybody else, that is just the way I was raised and taught. I have elected to take a bridge year offered by the State of New Jersey to better myself both academically and athletically and that is why I am now the class of 2023.
