My name is Curtis Gift, and I am a student-athlete playing for Lower Cape May Regional Varsity Baseball Team in Lower Township, New Jersey. I grew up in Lower Township and started my High School education at Lower Cape May Regional. I did play American Legion Travel Baseball in the summer, but did not play High School Baseball my Freshman year and due to familial reasons, I moved to Wildwood halfway through my Sophmore year and transferred to Wildwood High school in Wildwood, New Jersey. I joined thier Varsity Baseball Team and became a starter. In my statistics page you will see that I had an incredible year and I was pleased with my performance. In the summer of 2009 I played for the 18u Southern Cape Post 184 Tri County Wood Bat League. In my Junior year for Wildwood High, we had the oppurtunity as a team to travel to Disney in early April to play 4 games against teams from various states. This was an oppurtunity of a lifetime and I had so much fun all while playing the sport I love. I continued to play for Wildwood High School through my Junior year. I was one of the Captains of the team and I was selected to play in the prestigious Carpenter's Cup played at Citizens Bank Park (tournament from the tri state area). For a list of my accomplishments and awards for my Sophmore and Junior year please direct yourself to the stats/awards section. After the season was complete, I played with 3 seperate wood bat travel teams for the summer. I played again for the Southern Cape 18u and the Southern Cape 19 and over. I also had the chance to play for the Marrazano Baseball League out of Phila, PA. Games for this are played at the Sunoco field. (The Philadelphia Senators Field). I played for the Pro1Propects. These games were solely on Sundays throughout the summer and were mostly double-headers. By playing in these leagues and getting exposure, it gave my another great oppurtunity to be invited to a private workout with the Phillies held at the Richie Ashburn field, also in Phila, PA. This was a combine with about 150 participants and they ran us for the 60-yard dash and then throwing from our position, (I Threw from right field to home plate). After these two drills, they sent approx 120-130 men home, and I had the chance to stay and hit with the remaining 20-25 participants (5-6 pitches, 1st one you bunt and the others, swing away). Another chance of a lifetime for me. By playing in the Marrazano league I also had the chance to be rostered for a few games with the Philadelphia Senators in August of 2010 and played in the Jack Cust Diamond Nation Tournament in Northern, NJ. I also traveled to Georgia this summer and attended the Top Dawg Elite Baseball Camp sponsored by the University of Georgia. There I spent 4 days running through numerous drills, and recieved some of the best training from the staff at Univ of Georgia. I also ran my fastest 60-yard dash there (6.59), and they could verify that for an inquiring coach. I am thankful for all the experience and training I have recieved from each and every coach that has given me the oppurtunity to play for them and I try my hardest to lead by example both on and off the field. After the summer I continued my education at Wildwood High for my Senior year, but again for family reasons, early in 2011, I had to transfer back to Lower Cape May Regional where I currently am I student athelete and am currently playing Varsity Baseball. On Tuesday May 10th, versus Hammonton High School in New Jersey, I reached the 100 career hit mark and I am at 98 career RBI mark. (3 years High School Baseball). I am still trying my hardest academically also. last I checked, my GPA was around a 2.5 core which doesnt reflect my drive as a student. I am classified special education, but that doesnt stop me from working hard to achieve my goals in life. My SAT score also does not allow me to qualify to play for a 4-year college. I took only one SAT and ACT. I am a very hard worker and am learning how to budget my time better and prepare myself for a Junior College. I believe this will give me the chance to mature academically, while hopefully being able to play Baseball at a high level. Upon completing Junior College, I am confident that I can move on to a 4-year college in the future and continue to play College Baseball. Sky is the limit. I am also looking for grant, loan and possibly scholarship oppurtunities on a financial need basis. I am 6'1", 190-195lbs, right handed and have a 6.59, 60 time. My home to 1st base time averages bewteen 4-4.1. My throws fom the outfield have been clocked at 88-89mph (stalker) one bounce to home plate. You can see my High school stats from Wildwood High and the Southern Cape league by going to WILDWOODWARRIORSBASEBALL.NET . My senior year stats are recalculated/updated every few days and you can view them in the stats section here. I am a very hard worker and feel that I am coachable and have plenty room for advancement.
