Personal Statement
As a young athlete, growing up I’ve always wanted to play at the collegiate level. Watching all the teams on TV was something I found exciting and took joy in doing. Being an undersized player, it was always harder for me to get looked at. As I got older, I started using my size as motivation to keep getting better, and I was able to prove this to all of my coaches through my performance.
My freshman year of high school, I started as a second baseman. It didn’t take long for my coach to move me to shortstop based on my performance throughout the season. I’m a very competitive player, and I’m not afraid to put in the work necessary to be successful. I also believe that I have the academic and athletic ability to compete at the collegiate level.
