I have a pretty abnormal story to my baseball career and how I got to where I am now. Baseball was just a burden that I was naturally good at, so I played it from the time I was 7 until I got to high school, when pure athleticism and skill weren’t as dominating as a good work ethic. I fell behind the competition because it became harder and harder to compete with those putting in the work. I lost all love for the game and stopped playing baseball for around 2 years, freshman and sophomore year, but in that time, I realized the opportunity and gift I had in the game. Eventually, I made my way back onto the field, and in my first season as a high school baseball player, all I faced was doubt and adversity. This, however, is my biggest motivation. I went from barely making the team to being the third starting pitcher and one of the most reliable options in the rotation. In my mind, there is nothing I can’t do, and I’ll continue to prove that on and off the field through my attitude and work ethic. I’m just getting started... there’s bigger and better things to come.
