Personal Statement

Speed is the name of the game. It is something that cannot die within any sport. Power is like a light switch flickering on and off. I believe speed resembles an energizer for my team's play. It sparks avidity and aspiration towards winning. Baseball may be a game, but it is a complex game. It requires over 100% devotion, mental toughness, and exquisite physicality. This is why I love baseball, because it is a maze of challenges.

Every single minute of baseball requires complete concentration. It does not matter what you did in the past or the errors that you will make in the future What matters is how you play and act today. I understand that the best hitters make an out 2 of the 3 times at-bat. On those two outs, I will run at full speed to first base. I have not been thrown out by a catcher yet stealing a base on the High School and Travel league level. If it is a strikeout, then I will attempt to make contact the next at-bat. Players may give 100% dedication, but I truly believe I will give 120%.

One of the many predicaments within baseball is learning to adjust and rectify. I had a walk-off hit one baseball game, but scuffled immensely over the past week. I knew that this blunder was minor, but required adjustments. I changed my stance into something that was comfortable, but different. Over the next 2 weeks, I got on base every single game.

I play multiple positions and model my play like a right handed version of Tony Kemp from Vanderbilt University, Ben Zobrist , and Mookie Betts. I have been working seriously on my academics also. I have been taking honor classes and been an A student for many of years. My collegiate goals include receiving a full-tuition scholarship, making a college baseball team, and setting my life in preparation for the gruesome world. I believe baseball could be the ticket to my future. "When baseball is no longer fun, it's no longer a game." -Joe DiMaggio

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
