Personal Statement
For as long as I can remember I have wanted to be a baseball player. Since I first stepped on the field at 3 years old I knew this was my passion. It is what drives me every day of my life. Over the course of time I have worked to make myself versatile on the field to be able to help my team in any way they needed, playing all positions fundamentally sound . The truth is true though that ultimately I have always felt most comfortable catching. It is a position that enabled me to become the leader I always envisioned myself to be. I have also played a solid 3rd base when not catching. Hard work, constant training, and extreme dedication are the key components to my Athletic development. Old school hard work, team first mentality, sportsmanship, being coach-able and being there for my teammates are staples of how I approach the sport. I consider it a privilege every time I take the field. Playing baseball at the Varsity level since Freshman year has been a dream come true. My next dream is to play at the highest level I can for as long as I can, earning a college education in the process.
I also believe in giving back to the sport to pay respect to all the coaches who were there for me. In the winter I train players aged 7 thru 14 for the Saint Athanasius Travel Baseball Program. I also coach the 12U and 10U Travel Teams. and umpire their In-House games.
Academically, I am in both the Honors Program and the Law Program at New Utrecht High School. My aspiration is to continue to drive my grades higher and pursue a degree in Law. I am looking forward to this years trip to FBI headquarters and the mock trials we will be taking part in.
I appreciate all the time everyone has taken to review this.
