Playing college baseball has always been a dream of mine. I started playing baseball when I was 4 years old. I have always stayed focused on being the best player and teammate I could possibly be. The way to do this is by practicing whether it be with teammates, my brothers or just by myself. I feel practicing is so important that during the pandemic my friend and I built a pitcher’s mound in my backyard so I could continue working on my craft.
I have many qualities that would make me an asset to any team. I am a team player. I get along with my teammates and my coaches. I follow directions. I am ready to play any position at any time as long as I’m on the ballfield with my teammates. When my team comes in from off the field I am the one standing by the dugout giving everyone a high five. I am a triplet so I am used to sharing the spotlight with my teammates.
During my collegiate years I plan to prepare myself for my future. I believe my studies as well as baseball can provide me with many learning experiences. By being hard working and committed to my goals, I know I would be an asset to my college and team. I understand that as a pitcher and third baseman how important it is to communicate and lead which I will do on and off the field. As mentioned before, being a team player is important to me. Respecting my coaches and teammates is one way that I show I am a team player. Improving on my skills throughout my college years and continuing to be a reliable teammate will lead me to have a successful college experience.
