Personal Statement
“You are not going to make it to college!” “ You might as well not take baseball serious because there is no chance you can play professionally or in college!” These are some of the things that people have told me. This goes against what my family has taught me in life. They taught me that whatever I want in life I can do it if I put my mind to it. There are no limits. Greatness is my destiny and I don’t have to settle for less. I have played baseball since I was 4 years old and it is my passion. My little league coaches pushed me to play High School baseball when many in my community stop after Junior High School. They also pushed for versatility by mastering more than one position in the field. Therefore, I now play outfield, third base and have a little experience playing 1st base. I played varsity baseball since my freshman year in High School in 2017. During the 2018 sophomore season I was the most improved player for my team and my coach is looking forward to MVP in my years to come. I am willing to grow. I am not satisfied because I can always improve my game.
Since a young age I knew I would attend college. My interests are in a college that is along the coast because I am looking to major in Marine Biology. Therefore, I am looking for a college that would put me in an environment where I could excel athletically, academically and support my passions. I am passionate also for music and am now in an honors program that has me focusing on music. I know that I will be an asset to any team because of my determination, good sense of humor, creativity, and being well-rounded.
