My biggest motivating factor in my life that keeps me moving forward no matter how ugly things get is my dream to become a Major League Baseball player. Baseball being part of my Dominican culture, it was only a matter of time for the love for that sport to start to grow within me. I’ve always wanted to make it into the M.L.B since I was 7 years old. Unfortunately, due to having severe health conditions when I was young such as having asthma when I was 6 months old and going through a lot of surgeries, I couldn’t start playing baseball until I was 12 years old. When I started playing, I was nervous and scared. People in my league were making fun of me and didn’t want to teach me how to play. However, with enough hard work, I was able to prove those people wrong and be the best baseball player that I can be. I’m now the best baseball player in my high school baseball team and one of the best baseball players in my 17-18 baseball team. All I have to say is that never let someone determine your success in something you want to do and don’t give up no matter what happens.
Last but not least, I want to major in computer science engineering because I’m interested in knowing how to hack computers, coding, how to make games, websites and so much more. Technology is one of the key stepping stones in our era and it’s advancing every year. I want to be part in that advancement process. For example, the aid of computers help me become bilingual. With all the English learning websites and being able to make friends with people who spoke English as their native language, I finally reached fluency in English. It changed the world around me. It made me realize in what I wanted to major in when I’m heading off to college.
