Collin Eakin '25 Recruiting Profile

My name is Collin Eakin class of 2025 shortstop/thirdbase out of New York. Ever since I heard the crack of the bat, or the roar of the crowd, baseball has always held a special place in my heart. It’s like a second home for me. When I step onto the diamond I can’t help but to just smile and cherish every second. The game's blend of strategy, skill, and teamwork has fueled my passion since I first stepped onto the diamond. As I enter this crucial phase of my life, my dream of playing college baseball burns brighter than ever. I am dedicated to maximize myself to my abilities, pushing myself beyond limits, and embracing the values of respect, responsibility, and hard work that the sport instills in me. I’ve always lived by a quote that Derek Jeter once said, “There may be  people with more talent than you but there’s no excuse for someone to work harder than you do.” This year I was named Captain as a sophomore on varsity and I take that role very seriously. I’m always the first one to the field and last one to leave. I love learning, I love learning new techniques and ways to improve my game. I use criticism, and mistakes to push me to work harder and improve. I feel I would be a great fit for any team that loves the game and has a passion for the game like me.
