Hi, my name is Jack McGowan. I am currently a senior at Cox Mill High School in Concord, North Carolina.
I started playing baseball at 6 years old with my dad and through the sport, I have learned a lot over the years. I look for ways to be a leader whether it’s talking on the field or getting my team fired up in the dugout during a game. And when I see teammates struggling, I don’t hesitate to step in and help out because teammates have to look after each other.
I'm lucky to have had great coaches to work with. One thing they have in common is that they have all said I am a hard worker and a coachable player. When I have questions about something, I ask for feedback so that I can understand what I need to fix.
I am extremely motivated to play baseball at a college or university that offers a competitive Computer Science program. I’m currently in a computer science track for my high school along with honors classes. I strive to get the best grades possible because success in the classroom is just as important to me as success on the baseball field.
I am currently playing with On Deck Academy where I'm a corner infielder and an outfielder. I'm also one of their power hitters and during the off season, you can find me weight training and core conditioning.
