Personal Statement
I love baseball, and want to continue to play as long as I can! So far, I have been very fortunate to play the game since I was 5 or 6 years old and continue to develop to a very competitive level. I credit good coaching, a positive outlook, with a lot of practice, sweat, and hard work which have shaped my skills as well as my attitude and desire to compete and win. I am a goal achiever! I continue to set goals for myself, and to date, I have already accomplished many of them. From the time I started Little League, I wanted to be an on the All-star team, I accomplished that at ages 10, 11, and 12. From the time I started travel ball, I wanted to be on an elite team and compete for the State Championship. In 2017, I tried out for the top team in NE Ohio and was chosen by the Spiders (Concord, OH); in 2018 we won the Ohio State 15U Championship, as well as winning 6 other tournament championships that summer against top level contenders from Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Kentucky. In 2018, as a freshman in high school, I set a goal of making the varsity baseball team and lettering. Not only did I achieve that goal, but also I became a regular starter as both a pitcher and an outfielder, and helped take our team to the Ohio Regional finals for Division 3. Losing that game instilled a work ethic and drive in me to never be that close and fall short again. Although my first love is baseball, I also have the goal of attending a good college and having academic success that will lead to many career opportunities. I work hard at school and have had, so far, nothing but straight “A’s” since the time I started kindergarten. I want to play baseball in college, so I am trying to do everything I can, so that I will be accepted at a school I want to attend, but also, with a coach and team I can continue to learn and develop my baseball skills with.
