Personal Statement

I have aspired to play college baseball from an early age.  I have a driven desire to play baseball as long as I can.  I believe I have excellent character as an athlete in baseball.  I am a hardworker with extensive knowledge and experience in the game.  I am a competitor who expects my team to win and I am always anticipating what will come next.  Whether pitching, playing defense at second base or shortstop, playing utility infielder where I am needed by my coach/team or batting, I am present and focused on our team's success.  Starting on our varsity baseball team as a freshman, presented a pressured situation that I was able to learn from and excel earning the leading hitter award as well as league and district honors.  Continuing as a sophomore and junior, I found mself in a place of leadership with no seniors present on our team my junior year.  Earning many awards was nice, but earning the respect of the players and coaches on my team and other teams means far greater.  I'm a coachable player who leaves it all on the field with a great passion and love for the game.  Academically, I have had to work hard as well.  I am a student that enjoys learning, but it is not always easy for me.  I have a 3.4 gpa and am ranked in the upper 1/3 of my class filled very deep wth honor students.  I am enrolled as a college credit plus student for the fall of my senior year in high school.  This way I can prove myself academically ready for acceptance as a student athlete upon my high school graduation in 2016.
