Personal Statement
I have been a starter on the Ridgeview High School Varsity baseball team my freshman and sophomore years. I am a catcher, and I also really enjoy playing outfield. I enjoy catching, because I am a part of every pitch and have a voice in what is about to happen on the field. My coach allows me to call pitches, because my knowledge of the game is high and I am constantly studying the game. I will graduate in 2025. As a freshman, I was recognized as Second Team All League catcher in 2022 as a freshman and recorded a 429 batting average. My sophomore year, I recorded a 396 BA and was again named Second Team All League Catcher in a more competitive league. So far my junior year, I am hitting lead off with a .439 and an OPB of .566. I give my best effort on and off the field, in academics and training for baseball. I attend Central Christian School where I have a 4.0 GPA and am one of the top students in my grade. My current weightlifting stats are 200# bench press, 295# squat, 405# straight-bar deadlift and 425# trap bar deadlift. A recent hand measurement of my 60 yard dash was 6.7 at the Gunderson Portland, Oregon baseball team try-outs in August 2023. My combined SAT score is a 1270.
My goal is to play at the collegiate level. I aspire to be a regular starter, so I am seeking a school where I can contribute on and off the field and where I can grow athletically, spiritually, and academically. Right now, I am leaning towards an engineering degree, but I am honestly not yet sure of the specific field. I love to follow the MLB along with the NCAA to the extent that I know all the players on certain teams, their stats, and the way that they play the game.
My family and I strongly believe in Jesus Christ as Lord, and my faith is important to me. I attend Journey Church in Bend, Oregon. I am the oldest son, have three siblings, and live in Redmond, Oregon with both of my parents.
