Personal Statement
I was born in Clearwater, Florida, and moved to Oregon with my family at the age of four. I started playing golf one year later at age five, won my first tournament at age six, and never looked back. I've participated in a number of sports growing up including baseball, soccer, and even junior bowling, but golf has always been my passion. The competition of playing sports is exciting, but I do thoroughly enjoy being a student of the game, learning about the history of golf, the physics behind the flight of the ball, and even golf course design. I also enjoy playing the drums, listening to music, learning about automotive engineering and design, and working out with our coach. One of the most memorable events in my life has been taking a trip to Vietnam at age ten to visit my mother's birthplace. She was also ten years old when she immigrated to America with her family. It was her first trip back to visit, and it gave me a real appreciation of the opportunities that we have in America. We've gone back two more times since, and I hope to keep visiting in the future. To keep everything I do and experience in perspective, I keep my priorities in order starting with my Faith in God, my family, my friends...and then golf.
