Baseball has been a part of my life since I was 3 but it hasn't been something I desired to do until my sophomore year. A game to send us to states, I was pitching on the mound in relief with the score 2-1. Next thing you know I loaded up the bases and all the pressure was crashing down on to me. With 2 outs, a soft grounder was hit to me and I airmailed the first basemen. That was my last memory of playing that season, considering it possibly cost us the game. It was an experience I've never imagined I'd be apart of. But an experience that changed me, I've never felt more eager and more drive to play baseball after that day. It made me become more determined to get better so when the next time the game is on me I can come through for my team and win.
I believe it's moments like this that really build the most character, because I've acquired a new competitive nature, a type of nature that tells me to win at all costs, even if that means me not playing to or if it means putting me in control of the team to win. I will try to win at all costs necessary. No matter the competition, no matter the situation I will be there ready to play and ready to win.
I'm ready for the next stage of the competition, not just athletically but academically. I am striving to be able to get the proper education so I can pursue my desired education of becoming a history teacher at the secondary level. I want to play for a college that can provide for me academically and not just athletically. I also want to play for a college that I can't make an impact in early in my college years and be able to win and compete at high levels.
