I've been playing baseball ever since I could walk, I used to use a big yellow bat with balls filled with stuffing and just hit in the living room with my dad. My great grandfather, Jack Wallaesa, played in the major league, he played for the Philadelphia Athletics and the Chicago White Socks, I've made it my goal to take after him. That was the start of the love for baseball I have today, I started on varsity pitching as a freshman, topping out around low 80's, ever since that day I've been working to get better. Baseball changed my life by bringing me some of the best friends I'll ever have, showing me to not take what you have for granted, and that "there is no I in team." I am even coaching a 12u team for my borough and teaching them the most important information about the game, it's okay to fail, it all depends on how you want to come back from failing. COVID really messed up my goals for high school and college, I couldn't pay attention when I was on the computer and couldn't stay caught up with work I had to do. This year my goals are back on track, already earning honor roll for the first term of my junior year. I have skills like that, I can turn something around fast and can finish it the way I want to. If I put my mind to it, it'll happen. Baseball is practically my life other than my family and schoolwork, I want to continue to the next level and play for a team that wins and has fun doing it.
