I first became interested in baseball when my mom and dad put on the movie “Everyone's Hero”. During the movie, I would pretend like I’m the batter and swing. I would watch this movie everyday until the DVD kept skipping because it got scratched. Since I showed interest, my parents decided to put me in tee ball and I have been playing every since. One thing I learned about myself playing baseball is that I am a patient person. On the field, I like to run deep in counts, I also learned that struggle is a part of life but it's how you respond that matters. One big thing I learned is that the Baseball diamond is one of the only places I can be myself, clear my head, be free, and embrace who I am and have fun. Early in high school, I learned that there's more to life than Baseball. I always knew it and my parents always told me but it showed more when I started high school. When I was younger, all I wanted to be was an MLB player. Now I want it so much more. I want to be a Business Management major and be a Private Investor and have my own business. The Biggest thing I want to do is to inspire young African Americans and show them that they can do anything they set their mind to. I also want to be one of the reasons African American kids want to play Baseball because I would like to see more of us in the Big leagues.
