Laila Alexander '26 Recruiting Profile

Hello, My name is Laila Alexander I am a 9th grade freshman currently attending Cristo Rey High School of Philadelphia. I just recently finished my high school varsity soccer season. I was able to be Varsity Captain and lead my team to States playoff. I am now currently playing high school basketball and I am starting on the Varsity team as well as an elected Captain. Off the court and field, I am a fun and adventurous person to be around. I like spending time with my family, watching movies, and playing games. I love taking road trips and when I get the opportunity I plan to travel the world. Inside the classroom I can truly say I’m a student-athlete. I currently have a 3.6 GPA. I complete all my work on time & participate in class. I am very great with helping others and asking questions whenever I don't quite understand. When it comes down to being an athlete, I can bring aggressiveness,I have a very strong IQ, leadership, and I am a very coachable player. I am a point guard that can pass the ball, get the team into our sets and get an open shot or bucket when needed. I can read the floor and see the play before it happens. Throughout my years of playing basketball, I have played with mostly boys. Playing with older boys has taught me to be stronger, more aggressive and smarter. I know boys are more physical than girls, so it has taught me to read the floor since I am not as strong as the boys so it would be harder to get a bucket. I have learned to use my Intelligence and skill set to impact others on and off the field and court.
