Lucas Zachesky '24 Recruiting Profile

I am very excited about the opportunity to play college baseball. First and foremost, I am a STUDENT-athlete. During high school, I have challenged myself academically by consistently managing multiple honors level classes while remaining actively involved in sports and activities.

From the beginning of my baseball career at a young age, I have always been a student of the game and have great pride in maintaining a high baseball IQ.  I have always been recognized as a very coachable athlete with a positive attitude who is willing and wanting to learn every step of the way. In baseball and in life, you never know all.  My athletic ability is highlighted by quick hands, good footwork, a strong arm, and accuracy with my throws. I believe that growing up as a catcher taught me my game smarts and work ethic, which have both helped me become a very effective infielder. I am a solid contact hitter with a confident awareness of the strike zone.  My greatest obstacle as an athlete has always been my size; I have overcome this challenge by outworking and training harder than my competition.   I have never allowed my size to stop me from achieving my goals.
