My name is Ayden Spicer and I'm currently a 11th grader with a graduation year of 2022 at Brandon Valley High School in Brandon SD. I am currently 5'11" and weigh 162 lbs. I am a proud multi-sport athlete with attention to my academics and faith.
I play for Brandon Valley High School Varsity baseball team. My primary position is catcher and I also play 2B, P and OF, in previous seasons I have played every position. I started on the Junior Varsity team my Freshman year with some time on the varsity team, and made the varsity team/junior varsity team again the past two years but didn't play spring last year due to Covid. I played for Brandon Valley Junior Legion team in the 2020 season. I batted all over the line up on our team while concentrating on a high on-base percentage doing whatever it takes to get on and help my team score. My coach really utilized my athletic abilities on both offense and defense. I concentrate on what I can control: effort, attitude, and focus both during the game, in-season and off-season training. I really enjoy working on my fundamentals and the off-season training drills. I have a high competitive nature in all aspects of life.
I have also qualified for the Under Armor Baseball Factory regional U14 events as a 13 and 14 year old and the U16 & U18 events as a 15 year old. Last year during quarantine I made the Baseball Factory High School All Region Team.
I also play soccer for Dakota Alliance Soccer Club U19 Loons 1 and the Varsity team (starter) for Brandon Valley High School for my three years of High School. I also made the South Dakota Metro Conference All Metro team my Freshman and Junior year, the South Dakota ESD Conference Team my Junior year, and was place on the South Dakota All State Second Team this last year. I play goalkeeper for both of my teams. I've been a team captain multiple years and consider myself one of the leaders on the team. I made the Dakota ODP teams during my U15, U16, U17, and U19 seasons and was invited to the regional camp all 4 seasons.
I work hard on putting an emphasis on my academics, I currently take the advanced math and science path for high school. BVHS is ranked the #1 high school in the state for academics. I'm currently undecided for a college degree but I'm leaning toward medical/engineer/sciences. I'm looking for a medium to large campus and currently am undecided on distance or location. I want to attend a high quality program and I'm keeping my options open in regards to division. Priority will be a program with an eye on player development with good academics.
My main goal is to play in the MLB one day. I know the next step is to be on a high quality college program where I can help my team while continuing my baseball development. You won't be disappointed.
