Personal Statement
This will be my sixth year playing competitive baseball. I was introduced to the game of baseball at a very young age and didn't have much interest in it the first year I played. But a couple years later I found myself in love with the game. Since then baseball has been my number one sport even though I played basketball for a few years which was mainly to keep myself in good athletic shape.
I’ve learned from the game of baseball that it isn’t over until it's really over. You can’t run the clock out like football or basketball, you have to throw that next pitch and give the batter his opportunity no matter what. Some of the best games are the ones where it’s a close game and you're getting towards your final innings. We were playing our rivals in a tie game; I came in to pitch the last inning. Without giving up any runs it was our turn to bat and I was fortunate enough to hit the game winning homerun in the bottom of the inning. So it's really not over until you throw that final pitch or even hit that final pitch of the game.
