Zachary Malone '21 Recruiting Profile

My name is Zachary Malone and I am a 6'0, 185 pound third basemen, shortstop, and pitcher. Offensively I have the ability to spray the ball to all fields with power and the ability to hit pitches in and out of the strike zone. Defensively I have a strong loose arm across the diamond with soft hands and good footwork. Pitching wise I have excellent balance and a great feel for all my pitches.

Baseball started for me in Houston, Texas at the age of four. At the age of six my family and I relocated to a small northeast Texas community. Being a minority in my town has had its challenges. I was always selected for teams based on my ability. However, despite having some of the highest stats on these teams I have never been nominated for certain accolades that my peers have received. I've had to learn to get fulfillment from personal self improvement and my simple love for the game. This has made me mentally strong both on and off the field.

Watching high school, college, and the pros play at a high level inspires me to perfect my craft. As a high school student my goal is to finish in the top ten percent of my class with at least a 4.0 grade point average. My academic interest are history, journalism, and writing. As I continue my high school and select baseball I look forward to striving to win a state championship and to continue my development as a player.

Many of my best memories have been on the field. I've been so fortunate to have family support, pro and college mentors, and unique experiences during my journey so far. I'm looking for a college program that continues to elevate my growth both academically and athletically.
